Animals: These Albino Wallabies from Australia are among the very rare animals left in the World and some of the first to be born in this country, are at the Flamingo Zoo, Olney, Bucks. The baby is just 2 months old and is taking its first look at the outside world since it climbed into its mothers pouch seconds after birth. The young Wallabies remain inside the pouch, feeding from the mother, for 2 months before even popping their heads out. The 3 year old mother is named " Snowwhite" and although it is not possible to tell what sex the baby is the owner of the zoo Christopher Marler has named it " Snowdrop" in any case he says its certainly a Rare White Jumper. EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures a truly rare sight in the animal kingdom - albino wallabies from Australia. These magnificent creatures, among the last of their kind in the world, reside at Flamingo Zoo in Olney, Bucks. The star of this image is a 2-month-old baby wallaby, taking its first peek at the outside world since it nestled into its mother's pouch moments after birth. For two months, these young wallabies remain snug inside their mother's pouch, nourishing themselves and growing stronger day by day. The three-year-old mother affectionately named "Snowwhite" has been diligently caring for her little one. Although determining the baby's gender is not yet possible, Christopher Marler - the proud owner of Flamingo Zoo - has lovingly christened it "Snowdrop". Regardless of gender, he declares it to be an extraordinary white jumper. The year was 1977 when this heartwarming moment was captured on film by Mirrorpix. It serves as a reminder that even amidst a rapidly changing world, nature still surprises us with its wonders and beauty. This photograph encapsulates both rarity and innocence; an intimate glimpse into the delicate bond between mother and child within this enchanting species. As we admire this snapshot frozen in time from Memory Lane Prints collection, let us cherish these precious glimpses into our planet's diverse wildlife and strive to protect them for generations to come.
