Sting (real name Gordon Sumner) arrives at London Heathrow Airport from Los Angeles
Sting (real name Gordon Sumner) arrives at London Heathrow Airport from Los Angeles.
Pictured with him (to Stings right as you look at the picture), in the white shirt/grey suit and carrying bands is the manager of The Police, Miles Copeland.
The Police were a British rock band formed in London in 1977. The Police became globally popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Emerging in the British new wave scene, they played a style of rock influenced by punk, reggae, and jazz. Aswell as five hit albums, including Outlandos d Amour and Reggatta de Blanc, they enjoyed global hit singles such as Roxanne, Message In A Bottle and Every Breath You Take. Band members were Stewart Copeland on drums, Sting (real name Gordon Sumner on lead vocals, bass, and the main songwriter) and Andy Summers on guitar. Henry Padovani was also their guitarist from January to August 1977, but left the band before they became famous.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, we witness the iconic Sting (real name Gordon Sumner) arriving at London Heathrow Airport from Los Angeles. The picture perfectly captures the essence of an era when music legends roamed freely across continents. Standing beside him, to Sting's right as you gaze at the image, is none other than Miles Copeland, the manager of The Police. The Police, a British rock band formed in 1977, took the world by storm during the late 70s and early 80s. Hailing from London's vibrant new wave scene, their unique style blended elements of punk, reggae, and jazz into a mesmerizing sound that resonated with audiences worldwide. With five hit albums under their belt including "Outlandos d'Amour" and "Reggatta de Blanc" they unleashed global chart-toppers like "Roxanne" "Message In A Bottle" and "Every Breath You Take". While Stewart Copeland skillfully commanded the drums and Andy Summers wielded his guitar prowess alongside Sting's lead vocals and bass skills as well as songwriting genius; it is worth noting that Henry Padovani also contributed his talents as guitarist for a brief period before departing just before The Police skyrocketed to fame. This remarkable photograph was taken on September 13th, 1983 by Victor Crawshaw - a true testament to an unforgettable moment in music history captured forever through Memory Lane Prints.
