EDITORS COMMENTS
The Royal Navy Type 23 Frigate HMS Argyll stands tall and proud at the end of Exercise Goalkeeper in the Middle East. This magnificent vessel, based in Plymouth, holds the prestigious title of being the longest-serving Type 23 frigate in the Royal Navy. Commissioned back in 1991 after its construction at Yarrow Yard in Scotstoun on the Clyde, this ship has a rich history. After undergoing an extensive £20 million refit from 2009 to 2010 at Rosyth, HMS Argyll has emerged as one of the most advanced and capable frigates within the Fleet. Its structure remains intact while its weapons and sensors have been significantly enhanced. This print captures not only a momentous occasion but also showcases the power and strength that lies within this remarkable warship. The exercise itself demonstrates how well-equipped and prepared our armed forces are for any challenge they may face. HMS Argyll is part of the Duke class frigates, commonly known as Type 23s or FFGs (Frigate Guided Missile). With its impressive capabilities and state-of-the-art technology, it symbolizes Britain's commitment to maintaining a strong naval presence worldwide. Let us admire this awe-inspiring image as we pay tribute to those who serve aboard HMS Argyll and all members of our Armed Forces who work tirelessly to protect our nation's interests.
