Pictured is Britains future flagship HMS Queen Elizabeth as she sailed into her home port of Portsmouth for the first time.
Greeted by thousands of people lining the Portsmouth seafront, the 65, 000-tonne carrier was met with the warmest of welcomes as she arrived in her home port.
Royal Navy sailors lined up in ceremonial procedure on the flight deck of the mammoth ship, standing alongside civilian colleagues from the Aircraft Carrier Alliance, as she passed the Round Tower. The ship will berth at the newly-opened Princess Royal Jetty at Her Majestys Naval Base Portsmouth, which will be home to both of the Royal Navys new aircraft carriers. The second, HMS Prince of Wales, will be officially named in a ceremony at Rosyth next month

EDITORS COMMENTS
The future flagship of Britain, HMS Queen Elizabeth, made a grand entrance as she sailed into her home port of Portsmouth for the first time. This awe-inspiring sight was witnessed by thousands of people who lined the seafront to welcome the 65,000-tonne carrier with open arms. The ship's arrival was marked by a display of ceremonial procedure on its flight deck, where Royal Navy sailors stood side by side with civilian colleagues from the Aircraft Carrier Alliance. As HMS Queen Elizabeth passed the Round Tower, it became evident that this mammoth vessel would find its berth at the newly-opened Princess Royal Jetty in Her Majesty's Naval Base Portsmouth. This jetty will serve as home to both of the Royal Navy's new aircraft carriers. The second carrier in line, HMS Prince of Wales, is set to be officially named in a ceremony at Rosyth next month. This aerial photograph captures not just an impressive surface ship but also symbolizes a significant milestone for Britain's naval capabilities and national pride. With its state-of-the-art technology and immense size, HMS Queen Elizabeth represents a powerful addition to the UK's defense forces and marks an exciting chapter in British maritime history.
