Renowned throughout the world for their armaments, Vickers Engineering Group Research
Renowned throughout the world for their armaments, Vickers Engineering Group Research and Development Division have developed several methods of forming metals by use of shock waves. A range of shapes can be formed from a tubular blank, and Vickers decided that this process could widen the scope for the design of stainless steel hollowware. They asked the Newcastle On Tyne College of Art and Industrial Design to collaborate in design, and manufacture of the trial parts. The aim has been to design a coffee pot which would embody all the forming features of the technique.
