Framed Print of Study for The Sylvan Spring, 1854 (oil on panel)

2956812 Study for The Sylvan Spring, 1854 (oil on panel) by Redgrave, Richard (1804-88); 25.4x35.56 cm; Private Collection; (add.info.: in the summer of 1852, Redgrave went to Abinger in Surrey for the summer for the first time, and was there joined by his friend the marine painter James Clark Hook. They and their families enjoyed a long hot summer and he wrote in his memoirs:we were often all together, sketching at the little springhead of the Tillingbourne, at the top of Friday Street.... I made four pictures from this very pool.... Sweet, sunny hours we had! How can life offer anything happier? It was the first of several such summers there.); Photo eThe Ms Gallery, London; English, out of copyright. © The Maas Gallery, London / Bridgeman Images
