They and their families enjoyed a long hot summer and he wrote in his memoirs:we were often all together, sketching at the little springhead of the Tillingbourne, at the top of Friday Street.... I made four pictures from this very pool.... Sweet, sunny hours we had! How can life offer anything happier? It was the first of several such summers there.); Photo eThe Ms Gallery, London; English, out of copyright. © The Maas Gallery, London / Bridgeman Images
