This photograph captures the radiant beauty and elegance of Princess May of Teck on her wedding day to Prince George, Duke of York, on the 6th of July, 1893. The future Queen Mary, as she would later be known, wore an exquisite bridal gown adorned with intricate lace and pearls, reflecting the opulence and grandeur of the royal event. Princess May's bridal veil, held in place by a diamond and pearl tiara, added to her regal appearance. The wedding took place at the Chapel Royal in St. James's Palace, London, and marked the beginning of a historic union between the House of Teck and the House of Windsor. Princess May's marriage to the Duke of York would eventually lead her to become the consort of King George V in 1910, following the death of King Edward VII.
