Jean Harlow in Saratoga (1937)

Jean Harlow in Saratoga (1937) wearing a blue souffl and lace dinner gown designed by Dolly Tree. The waist was tight and the skirt very full. Little designs in the appliqued lace at the hemline were emphasised by the occasional application of diminutive brilliants thought to be as bright and glistening as spring raindrops. The tiny pulled sleeves had occasional pink rosebuds. More pink roses and blue forget-me-nots formed a garland at the waistline. Innumerable ruffled taffeta petticoats gave the gown a hooped effect when it was worn. Date: 1937
