Translation: Bench Singer. Among the attractions of the fair was the Bankelsanger, descendants of the old bards and forerunners of the film newsreel. Standing on a bench, he presented new events and horror stories, often accompanied on the peasant lyre. In order to make a better impression, he unrolled a large canvas in front of the spectators, on which the stories were painted in bright colors.
